The intimate sound of the voice accompanied by piano or by a small grouping of orchestral instruments is a central thread in the development of classical and popular music. When you couple the full range of the human voice with the beautiful sound of select instruments in perfect harmony, you have a magic that is unique in its own right. Vocalists from Dayton Opera’s Artists-in-Residence program and members of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra take center stage in the Dayton Art Institute Renaissance Auditorium for this musical excursion through the songbook of American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein.
